Despite the uncertain geopolitical conditions and dynamic differences in exchange rates, the Maxcom Capital Group achieved a 17.11% increase in sales in the first half of 2022, and the Maxcom company 17.34% compared to the same period in 2021. The Maxcom product range has been expanded with new product lines such as DVB-T2 set-top boxes, Smart Home devices, laptops or innovative mounting systems for photovoltaics.
Disruptions in supply chains, lockdowns in China and Russian aggression in Ukraine have significantly raised the prices of services and components that are used in the production of consumer electronics. Transport prices and employee salaries related to the company's development also increased. All this meant that the operating costs of Maxcom in the first half of 2022 were by 26.84% higher than the costs of the corresponding period in 2021. Nevertheless, in the first half of 2022 Maxcom SA recorded a 17.38% increase in revenues, reaching sales at the level of PLN 55,413,000 and PLN 71,926,000 in the entire group. This result was influenced by the expansion of the product portfolio, acquiring new business partners abroad, maintaining the supply chain and maintaining stable inventory levels. The decrease in the margin recorded by the Maxcom Capital Group resulted mainly from the increase in the dollar (USD), which is the purchasing currency of Maxcom's products, in relation to the euro (EUR) and Polish zloty (PLN) exchange rates, in which the vast majority of Maxcom's sales are valued. Prices at key Polish and foreign customers are often contracted two quarters ahead, and the differences in exchange rates over the course of 6 months reached 9%.
The Management Board of Maxcom expects a significant increase in the Group's revenues in the upcoming quarters. The brand maintains the position of the dominant supplier of devices for domestic mobile operators in the categories of classic and rugged phones. In addition, sales of this type of products on foreign markets are systematically growing - the brand is already present in over 20 countries, mainly European.
Maxcom is constantly developing its product portfolio to make it more competitive and tailored to the diverse needs of consumers. The new assortment applies not only to the private label, but also to well-known brands cooperating with the company, such as Lenovo or the American JLab. Maxcom lines fit into the electromobility trend (such as electric scooters or Rubbee X electric drives), canons of fashion (e.g. jewelry smartwatches and cooperation with the ANIA KRUK brand), the future direction of a broadly understood smart home (cleaning robots or Smart Home devices) and enable seniors to find themselves in the world of new technologies (e.g. classic phones with WhatsApp function). The company is also developing an offer of solutions related to renewable energy systems, which is based on the wholesale of photovoltaic components. New products in the Maxcom portfolio are also laptops and DVB-T2 set-top boxes, which are a response to the market demand.
Maxcom is among the international group of perfectly managed companies, receiving the prestigious Best Managed Companies award. The company's extensive portfolio and presence on foreign markets has been appreciated by the District Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Tychy for its 25th anniversary, awarding the company with a distinction in the category of Debut and Market Expansion.
